Results are presented of a search for neutral hydrogen in clusters of galaxies. The spectra of continuum radio sources in the fields of 15 nearby clusters were surveyed for 21 cm absorption at the redshift of the cluster. No absorption feature was detected. An upper limit has been deduced for the neutral hydrogen density in the intracluster medium. This density is several orders of magnitude below the density needed to bind the cluster or to close the universe.
