The ballistic descent of a stabilized spacecraft in an atmosphere is analyzed with a view to deriving controlled motions which, through proper control, would imitate the uncontrolled motions. Conditions of dynamic stability are obtained for an axisymmetric spacecraft. The results can be used for theoretical modeling of the controlled imitation motions of spacecraft in the atmospheres of the earth and other planets.
