Scanning photometry data from the Venera 11 and Venera 12 landers are reported. Angular intensity distributions of the scattered solar radiation have been obtained for four spectral ranges (0.45-0.55, 0.56-0.68, 0.9-1.14, and 1.15-1.55 microns), which has made it possible to determine the height dependence of the differential flux. Solar energy absorption has been determined for various heights. In the spectral ranges 0.45-0.55 and 0.56-0.68 micron, the lower albedo limit has been obtained for the cloud layer. It is suggested that gaseous sulfur, with a relative content of 2 x 10 to the -8th on conversion to S2 molecules, is the most probable absorbing medium in the short-wave region of the spectrum.
