Scientific paper

Stratification of cometary plasma due to interaction of cometary ionosphere with the solar wind stream is considered. Development of dissipative filamentation instability, which resides in division of background plasma to current structures, is studied. Typical spatial scales of these structures are evaluated. Comparison with observational phenomena is also made.
