Trying something new can be intimidating and uncomfortable at first. Our students experience this when they first walk into our classrooms, and I have had a similar feeling in trying to use the lessons of education research to teach in a style different from the one that I experienced as an undergraduate. I will describe my efforts use the results of education research in my teaching as a new faculty member at a liberal arts college. I will share what has worked for me, what difficulties I've had, and what I'd like to try in the future.
