The cosmological spectral shift is a change of the cosmic frequency of a
photon along its trajectory and is connected with no specific
interpretation of the Robertson-Walker spacetime. Parallel with the
generally accepted "expanding Universe" interpretation the "variable
velocity" interpretation is considered.
