Based on resonance-fluorescence statistical equilibrium calculations, the synthetic spectra of the Delta v = +1 sequence of the C2 cometary Swan system is calculated and compared with previous data. In the model, several electronic states with 14 vibrational levels each have been considered. The synthetic profile was convolved with a FWHM Gaussian profile of 0.3 A, and is in good agreement with the high-resolution spectra obtained by Lambert and Danks (1983) on comet West 1976 VI.
