ISIS-2 satellite time-compressed dynamic spectra are presented which indicate the occurrence probabilities and patterns of transequatorial proton (TEP), deuteron (TED) and helium (TEH) whistlers. While TEPs have a high probability in an active solar period, that of the TEDs is low; TEPs exhibit a strong seasonal variation in quiet solar periods. The minimum occurrence probabilities, which depend on geomagnetic activity, appear at K(p) values of 4-5. The phenomena are explainable in terms of the bouncing surface diagram of multicomponent and inhomogeneous plasmas with varying proton density. The spectral pattern of transequatorial ion whistlers and calculations of an approximate equation with regard to the deuteron effect show that the proton to electron density ratios decrease with increasing solar activity.
