Numerical simulations are presented for a model of an extragalactic
radio source in which the jet speed varies cosinusoidally with time. The
distribution of radio emission on the plane of the sky from the hotspot
produced by the jet is predicted, and found to change profoundly in both
morphology and power as a result of the variations in the jet speed.
