Radial-velocity observations of the spectroscopic binary HR 1878 (HD 36859) obtained at Cambridge, UK, during 1976-1984 are reported and used to calculate the orbital elements. The data results are compared in a table and a radial-velocity curve with the photographic observations of Young (1942), which are found to be of insufficient accuracy to be included in the calculations. The orbit is found to have period 381.72 + or - 0.20 d and eccentricity 0.514 + or - 0.009.
