A stationary self-consistent model for the formation of a corona above coronal holes with an energy source in the form of a MHD wave is considered. It is shown that more rapid (as opposed to radial) divergence of the magnetic field lines leads to a stronger cooling influence of the plasma flow on the solar corona regime. This explains the lower plasma density and temperature values and the higher flow velocity typical of coronal holes.
