Fourier decomposition parameters for Type II Cepeids with periods 1d-3d are derived from UBVRI data and photographic mean light curves collected from the literature. Although data of high quality exist for only 4-5 stars, it is shown that available light curves for about 35 Type ii variables (BL Her and RRd stars) allow sufficiently accurate determinations of Fourier parameters for an overview of their pulsation properties. The basic pulsation properties of the Type II Cepheids seem to be very similar to those of the classical Cepheids. However, small but significant differences are shown to be present. The RRd group has larger amplitude ratios than other Cepheid variables, and the bump progression sequence, expected to correspond to the conspicuous Hertzsprung sequence in the classical Cepheids, is much less pronounced in the Type Ii variables. Possible reasons for these differences are briefly discussed. It is concluded that more secure information on the physical properties of Type II Cepheids of periods 1d-3d requires more accurate data for many variables than is available at present.
