Einstein IPC imaging observations east of the Monoceros supernova remnant reveal a region of enhanced X-ray emission. This is identified with the supernova remnant PKS 0646+06. A remnant distance of ≡3 - 11 kpc and age of ≡60000 yr are derived from the observed flux and temperature using a Sedov model, with the lower distance preferred on the basis of optical data. The derived low density of ≡0.04 cm-3 implies the remnant is still in the adiabatic blast wave phase.
