The results of a photographic and spectroscopic study of the compact, relatively bright planetary nebula M 1-7 are presented and discussed. The observations and data reductions are presented, and the line intensities and physical conditions of the ionized gas are given. The determination of the ionic and total abundances is addressed, and the ionization structure of the nebula is noted. The distance and linear radius are shown and a spatio-kinematical model of the nebula derived from high dispersion spectra is presented. The visual magnitude, temperature, radius, and luminosity of the exciting star are given and discussed. An estimate of the nebular mass is obtained.
