We mainly discuss the problem of stabilization in numerical calculation of the orbits of celestial bodies, that is, the control of the along-track error. We give methods of stabilization for three different cases, stationary conservative systems, non-stationary conservative systems, and dissipative systems, and clarify the practical meaning of stabilization when there are errors in initial values. Lastly, we discuss the question of reliability of numerical exploration in qualitative studies.
