The brightness distribution of the Hα emission line across S27, a very extended H II-region around ζ Ophiuchi has been measured. A photographic wide-field image was combined with photoelectric observations of the nebula using the Bochum 61 cm telescope at La Silla. Interference filters of different bandwidths were used to separate the Hα and [N II] λλ 6548, 6583 lines and the continuum radiation. The resulting Hα map of the nebula has an angular resolution of 4'.76 and an extension of 20 x 15 degrees. The intensity scale was calibrated using stars with absolutely calibrated continuum.
