Radial velocities, line profiles, and V, R photometry of V442 Cyg (F1+F2) are analyzed to obtain the fundamental properties of this detached main-sequence binary. The minima in the light curve (0.56 and 0.49 mag) are deep enough for definitive photometric orbits, despite the relatively small number of observations within eclipses. Comparison of the properties of these stars with theoretical models of stellar evolution shows a good match at an age of 1.3×109yr and a composition of x = 0.7, z = 0.03. The primary is very near the end of its core-hydrogen-burning lifetime.
