A study of the identification of the (0-0) band of the Swan system of the C2 molecules in the wavelength region 4800-5200 A is presented. The C2 wavelengths of Phillips and Davis (1968) are compared with the line identifications of Moore et al. (1966). The equivalent widths of the lines are calculated for the center of the solar disc and for a near limb position using the photospheric model of Holweger and Mueller (1974). A table of calculated equivalent widths and equivalent widths measured by Moore et al. (1966) is provided.
