Recently released Cassini observation point to a number of features in the A ring that appear to be propeller structures formed by moonlets embedded in the ring. This type of system has been extensively studied with simulations involving a single particle size and without particle self-gravity. We present simulations where these restrictions are removed. Moving to this more realistic simulation system makes wake formation by the moonlet far less pronounced. The fact that features are seen by Cassini could have significant implications for the particle size distribution in the rings, or it could point to processes that play a major role which are not well captured in current simulations.
