A galactic mass model is used with density (rho)0 = 0.10 M0/pc3, R0 = 7.6 kpc, and V0 = 200 km/sec. The first of these numbers is now well determined, but the latter two still have 10-15% uncertainties. These uncertainties permit construction of a galactic mass model with multiple local resonances as in Kotoneva et al, 2005. A "conventional" solar orbit is computed, rather similar in plan to the Martian heliocentric orbit with a true vertical period exceeding the value at R0 by about 10%. If, however, a resonant bar is active, the resulting solar orbit (and all local stellar motions) will have a periodic perturbation. This work was supported by NSERC and York University.
