We propose to contine our XMM monitoring program of the bright eclipsing polar HU Aqr, and, at the same time, extend this study to the only bremsstrahlung dominated eclipsing system, V2301 Oph. This will allow to characterize basic properties of the accretion region (soft/hard X-ray balance, plasma temperatures, geometry) as a function of the instantaneous accretion rate, and for two different field strength regimes (7 MG and 33 MG). Given their eclipsing nature both systems also provide uniqe geometric constrains on the size and location of the different plasma components.
