The correlation between physical properties and molecule size is investigated using a model based on the addition of fused aromatic rings to the benezene molecule. The behavior of large molecules (greater than 50 atom) under interstellar conditions is examined. The thermal properties and photodecomposition and chemical stability of aromatic molecules and small carbon particles are analyzed. The relation between ionization potential and photoelectric emission, as the size of the molecule increases, is studied. The procedures, based on the Platt relation (1960), for predicting absorption wavelengths for positively charge aromatic ions are described.
