A comparison is made between different programs (WIDTH 5, WIDTH 6, and KONTUR) for calculating the profiles and equivalent widths of absorption lines. It is shown that, in calculations of medium and strong lines, the quadratic Stark effect must be taken into account. The influence of the model atmospheres on the theoretical line profiles is investigated and the accuracy of element abundances determined via model atmospheres is estimated.
