The rotation curve of the Galaxy in the distance range 1 < R/R0 ⪉ 1.6 is derived by a method which utilizes the whole H I 21 cm line profile in the galactic plane in the 1st and 4th galactic quadrants. In agreement with studies based on H II regions and CO clouds (Jackson et al., 1979; Blitz, 1979) no evidence is found for a fall-off below a flat rotation curve in the distance range covered by the method.
