The basic scheme of classifying meteorites is presented. Brief characterizations are given of the following: chondrites, including enstatites, olivine-bronzites, olivine-hyperstene chondrites, amphorites, and carbonaceous chondrites; achondrites, including aubrites, diogenites, chassignites, ureilites, angrites, naklites, and pyroxene-plagioclase achondrites; iron stony meteorites, including pallasites, mezosiderites, siderofires, and lodranites; and iron meteorites, including hexahedrites, octahedrites, and ataxites.
