The DDO colors of evolved stars in galactic globular clusters are analyzed and the cyanogen anomalies delta CN are derived. The observed relation between delta CN and (Fe/H) is in reasonable agreement with the existing theoretical calibration of delta CN in terms of heavy-element abundance. For the clusters which deviate from the general ranking, independent spectroscopic or photometric observations suggest peculiar CNO abundances. Finally, the large variation in CN strengths observed within metal-rich globular clusters seems correlated with a bimodal distribution of CN abundances.
