An examination of data on the chemical evolution of the Local Group shows that the chemical abundance of the galaxies involved appears to be determined mainly by galaxy mass. Color/magnitude diagrams of clusters suggest that the Fe/CNO ratio may differ between disks and halos of galaxies. Another important parameter is variations in the C/O abundance ratio.
