Radial velocities of seven supergiant early-type stars probable members of the h and X Persei cluster have been derived from spectrograms taken at the Mc Donald Observatory. The possibility to verify with these velocities and eighteen other obtained from literature the hypothesis of the explosion of the supergiant star group around the double cluster in Perseus is discussed. We found that, if all these stars are situated on a sphere of two degrees radius (see Fig. 1), Ve=8km/s, but if it is assumed that some of the stars are not on that sphere, then Ve=3.2km/s. Ve being the initial velocity due to the explosion. In both cases Ve is within the limits given by Ambartsumian.
