We study the mass-metallicity relation of local galaxies selected from a cross-identification of IRAS Point Source Catalogue Redshift Survey (PSCz) and Sloan Digital Sky Survey Seventh Data Release (SDSS DR7). We find that the mass-metallicity relation is not a function of infrared luminosity. Infrared-selected spirals show a slightly higher metal enrichment, compared to the M-Z relation defined by SDSS star-forming galaxies. Whereas edge-on galaxies, interacting and merging systems follow the same relation as the bulk of SDSS galaxies.
