It is shown that the apparent flattening of the galactic globular
cluster system is strongly affected by absorption. With Av = 1.5 mag/kpc
the observed circular symmetry of cluster positions in the Y,Z plane can
be accounted for if the outer halo is approximately spherical, while the
inner halo has an axial ratio b/a of about 0.5.
