Energy transport in hot star winds is discussed. Radiation is so important that radiative equilibrium cannot be disrupted by temperature enhancements due to the dynamics or the properties of the expanding gas (such as thermal conductivity, etc.. However, if, as suggested in a previous paper (Leroy and Lafon, 1981), radiative equilibrium is disrupted by an additional energy input due to sources irrelevant to the expanding gas (wave dissipation for instance), this happens in a very thin "corona like" shell. A qualitative energy balance scheme is proposed in this case.
