Recent and older photometric data on RS CVn are compared to give evidence of a systematically variable velocity and a past migration reversal of the wave-like distortion in the light curve. A possible scenario is presented, which is based on the spot-model by Eaton and Hall (1979), and offers a qualitative interpretation of the puzzling behavior of several RS CVn systems. The new observation-based characteristics and the possible scenarios are presented to stress the importance of collecting uninterrupted data on the migration and amplitude of photometric data.
