The yet-unknown origin of the various manifest time asymmetries seems to be related to another persistent problem, namely, the lack of a satisfactory explanation for the presumed “collapse of the wave function” in quantum mechanics. An experiment is proposed to test some hypotheses concernign both quantum collapse and the origin of time asymmetries.
