Because we can directly resolve its stellar populations, M33 offers a unique opportunity in the study of late-type disk evolution. Here we outline a plan to study M33's stellar content and evolution using ground-based observations in conjunction with HST observations obtained with WFPC2 and ACS. Using the method of synthetic CMD fitting, we will deduce the star formation and chemical enrichment histories of this galaxy. The results will improve our understanding of disk galaxy evolution, its driving parameters, and the physical processes involved. Finally, we present some preliminary results.
