We analyze the diffuse X-ray emission from a sample of nearby (D < 25 Mpc) galaxies in the Chandra archive. Using multiple component spectral analysis, we derive temperature and luminosity values for this emission and demonstrate that nearby, early-type galaxies contain a measurable diffuse component down to the lowest blue luminosity galaxies available in the archive (LB=7.4). We find an average temperature for the diffuse emission of kT=0.366± 0.207 keV. We fit a variety of luminosity relations and compare our results with previous catalogs. In particular, we derive a value of 1.37± 0.19 for the slope of the LX:L_B relation and find that the evidence for a break in this relation is not strong in our sample.
