SNAPSim, a general-purpose Java-based simulator, allows one to perform a complete parametrized simulation of a dark energy mission. Starting with a distribution of astronomical sources on the sky, SNAPSim parametrizes the propagation of light through the Universe and foregrounds within a given observing strategy, and provides a number of tools for analyzing the data. Its purpose is to compare and optimize different strategies for supernova missions that probe dark energy.
