We are carrying out a program to observe ˜150 Solar-type (FGK) stars using MIPS onboard the Spitzer Space Telescope. To date, approximately 100 of these stars have been observed at 24 and 70 microns; almost every star was detected at both wavelengths. A number of these stars have detected excesses at 70 microns, indicating the presence of cold ( ˜50-100 K) dust in those systems. We will present our latest results from this survey, including the overall frequency of dusty debris disks in the sample as well as the frequency of excesses as a function of age and of spectral type. We will discuss systems with the largest excesses as being of particular interest. We relate the results from this program to those from similar surveys to look for dust around A stars (Rieke et al.), nearby M stars (Gautier et al.), and Solar-type stars with known extrasolar planets (Beichman et al.). The results from this program will help us understand the place of our Solar System in the context of our nearby stellar neighbors. Support for this work was provided by NASA through Contract Number 960785 issued by JPL/Caltech.
