The periodic motions of a satellite with respect to its center of mass in a central Newtonian gravitational field in a circular orbit are analyzed. A dynamically symmetric satellite with near equatorial and polar moments of inertia is considered in the case when the projection of the absolute angular velocity on the axis of symmetry is small. An analysis is made of the existence and stability of periodic motions generated from such motions of the satellite when its axis of symmetry rotates in the orbit plane. The Poincare method is used to demonstrate the existence of periodic motions generated from the hyperboloidal precession of an almost-dynamically-symmetric satellite.
