The authors report the existence of two coronal voids observed during
the July 31, 1981 solar eclipse. They extended from the low corona to a
height of 1.8 R_sun; or 3.5 R_sun;. The authors assume that they could
have fulfilled a function similar to that of a neutral sheet. No coronal
prominence was observed to have condensed during eclipse totality.
