Results of long slit, high-dispersion spectra obtained with the Anglo-Australian telescope over the bipolar nebula MZ-3 are presented which reveal the internal motions and many of the physical parameters both within the bright core and the more extensive outer regions of this nebula. The continuum from the core is determined to be of atomic origin originating in an ionized gas with an electron density greater than or approximately equal to 100,000/cu cm. Three separate velocity components from this core are found to be continuous with the velocities in the outer regions over a range of V(HEL) from -147 to +35 km/s. Also observed is a distinct tilt (80 km/s) to the velocity curves from one side of MZ-3 to the other. The H-alpha line has wings from and around the core that are 2460 km/s in extent. It is proposed that if MZ-3 is at a distance of approximately 1 kpc then a radiatively ionized stellar wind of 0.00017 solar mass/yr (probably produced by electron scattering) would be required to explain this.
