Spectra obtained at intermediate dispersion with a photon counting detector in the blue and red spectral regions are presented for three southern OBC-type stars: HD 104565 (O9.7 Ia), HD 96248 (B1.5 Iab) and HD 75860 (B2 Iab). All display broad Hα emission features. Equivalent widths for several lines are tabulated and radial velocities determined. A survey of the available observational data on the members of the OBC group strongly suggests the presence of extended atmospheres in these stars. The relevance of these observations to the interpretation of the OBC phenomenon is discussed.
