The variations of the interplanetary fluctuations across the shock wave are discussed on the basis of the theory of MHD shock waves. The approximate analysis solution shows that the theoretical results can help explain the statistical results of Belcher and Davis (1971) and Whang (1973), who analyzed observational data from Mariner 5 and Explorer 34 in interplanetary space and the magnetosheath.
