People come across Astronomy in their everyday lives. Very few sciences have so many natural events that spectacularly affect everybody's daily life. Some of them, such as solar or lunar eclipses naturally arouse the curiosity of many people; others, as the transit of Venus, that just need a bit of motivation to attract the interest of the general public. If these opportunities are well used we have an excellent opened door to promote astronomy. In recent years we have been able to see that with relatively little effort, people discover these events and they feel attracted by them, collaborating and participating actively. It is indispensable to promote this kind of 'science movement' the work and effort of people directly related to Astronomy. This contribution will show several examples from different institutions, astronomy societies and groups of people and how they propose activities in order to use these astronomical events to promote science and astronomy. We will compare the real impact among the society of such kind of events during some years of continuous special events.
