We performed radiation-hydrodynamical simulations to derive estimates
for the background signal due to granulation in the Sun, Procyon, and
η Boo. We present an intercomparison of the theoretical results, and
discuss them in the light of recent observational findings, in
particular of the MOST photometry mission.
