The author shows that the temperature variation of a pulsating star can significantly affect the profile of a spectral line if the projected rotational velocity is sufficiently large. The least-squares algorithm discussed in a previous paper for estimating the pulsation parameters is extended to cover this case. The algorithm is also capable of taking into account all first-order terms in the eigenfunction. The author develops the algorithm for a purely toroidal mode and discusses how such modes may be distinguished from spheroidal modes.
