Oscillations in the radial velocity and brightness of the chromosphere above a sunspot have been measured spectroscopically. The periods of these fluctuations are estimated. A discussion making use of published data indicates that the oscillatory processes in sunspots may undergo individual differences, with various relationships between velocity and brightness. For all sunspots the period of velocity oscillation is about 160 sec, but the periods of brightness fluctuation differ.
