Results are reported from application to 17 pulsars of a high-accuracy dispersion measure (DM) for prefiltering pulsar position and period radio observations. The study was performed with the Arecibo radiotelescope using frequencies of either 430, 600 or 1400 MHz or simply three frequencies in the 430-1400 MHz interval. The improved DM values and newly-calculated periods are presented and discrepancies with previous observations are noted.
