The planet was observed from 2002 September 11 through 2003 July 20, visually and by digital imaging. Statistics of belt aspects and of the activity of the atmospheric currents were elaborated. A train of white spots on SSTB persisted from the previous apparitions, as well as dark "barges" on NEBn and a long lived prograde white spot at the same latitude. A very dark sector of STB surpassed the GRS. The oval BA decelerated and was followed by a prominent dark spot and a white one. The GRS was followed by white spots lying in the middle of the SEB; out of this sector a SEBc dark component developed. The North Equatorial Current activity remained subdued, with a few faint festoons. The NEBn expansion of the previous years retreated and a thin NTrB developed. The NTB disappeared almost completely between December-January, leaving two short segments and a dark spot with a rapid prograde drift, which persisted for several months. Other domains showed significant activity, including a very Southern white oval, STB/Z spots, SEBs and NNTBs jetstreams, NNTB sectors.
