For 26 southern and equatorial Be stars, absolute spectral energy distributions were measured photoelectrically between 3200 A and 8500 A with 10 A spectral resolution using the scanning spectrophotometer attached to the 61 cm telescope of the University of Bochum at La Silla. The instrumental measuring mode was optimized such as to obtain the highest possible accuracy in the region of the Balmer discontinuity. Spectral fluxes of the program stars are determined with an error of 0.03 mag or less. For the first time, the double structure of the Balmer discontinuity - well known from the analysis of photographic spectrograms - has been resolved by means of photoelectric spectrophotometry. Significant variations within eight days are found for the energy distribution of HR 2284.
