The radio galaxy NGC 612 (= PKS 0131-36) has been studied spectroscopically and the velocity field measured in emission lines of [O II], [O III] and Hα. A rotation curve has been determined to a radius of 40 kpc (H = 50 km s-1 Mpc-1). The rotation curve of this SO galaxy is essentially flat, as is found for many late-type systems, with an amplitude of 340 km s-1. The dust lane is orthogonal to the derived rotation axis which in turn is aligned with the radio source. The upper limit to the mass is 1.1 × 1012 Msun (based on a spherical model) and is comparable to that of NGC 1961 (Rubin, Ford & Roberts 1979). The upper limit to the mass to blue light ratio is 5.4 ± 1.8 (solar units).
